MEADVILLE, PA (MARCH 14, 2021) – The Meadville Area Recreation Complex (MARC) received a $50,000 check from the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation in conjunction with Channellock, Inc. CHANNELLOCK® leaders, the Meadville Area Recreation Foundation (MARF), and former Penguins player Phil Bourque were on hand to celebrate this special occasion.
“We love welcoming families to George S. DeArment Ice Arena to celebrate the partnership of CHANNELLOCK® and the Pittsburgh Penguins,” said MARC executive director Aaron Rekich. “The MARC is lucky to have great support from the community and this just shows how much hockey means to this town. Our goal is for these families is to have a safe and enlightening facility to enjoy watching their kids learn new skills with big smiles on their faces.”

VP of Sales and Marketing, Ryan DeArment. “This is a great example of two world-class organizations coming together to reinvest in the community they serve."
After the check presentation, the MARC also hosted a Little Penguins Meet and Greet with Phil Bourque.
“We know how strong youth hockey is and how important this rec center is to the county," Bourque said.
