March 27, 2025

Channellock, Inc., a leader in American-made pliers and hand tools, announces key leadership changes that reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence and its legacy of family leadership.

Effective immediately, Jon DeArment, President and COO, will transition to the role of EVP Manufacturing and Engineering. Jimmy Bromley, CFO, will assume the role of President. Ryan DeArment will assume the role of EVP Sales and Marketing. Jessica Thompson, VP of Human Resources, continues in her critical role supporting Channellock’s workforce and driving initiatives that foster a strong company culture. The search for a new CFO is underway, and Bromley will continue to manage those responsibilities during this transition period.

“These leadership changes position us to strengthen our operations while maintaining the values and craftsmanship that have defined us for over a century,” said William S. DeArment, Chairman. “Jon’s new role allows him to focus on operational excellence while Jimmy’s leadership—backed by nearly 30 years of operational and financial expertise—ensures we continue our tradition of quality and innovation while driving future growth.”

Jon DeArment, who has spent decades advancing Channellock’s manufacturing processes, is dedicated to his new role. “My passion has always been American manufacturing and delivering the best tools to our customers. This position allows me to focus on our employees, working closely with our team to drive operational excellence and uphold the Channellock legacy.”

Jimmy Bromley expressed his commitment to the company’s long-standing principles. “I am honored to assume the role of President at Channellock and greatly admire what the family and loyal employees have accomplished over nearly 140 years. There has never been a more important or exciting time to be a Made in America manufacturer, and I am proud of the passion and quality our women and men bring to the shop floor every day. I very much look forward to the opportunity to serve our employees, customers, and the ownership of the Company. Our laser focus remains on supporting our employees, improving operational efficiencies and financial discipline, delivering the quality our customers trust, and giving back to our communities on a local and national level. Together with Jon and Ryan, I am excited to continue building on Channellock’s rich history and guiding principles.”

The leadership transition reflects Channellock’s proactive approach to sustaining its legacy while positioning the company for future growth. The DeArment family remains deeply committed to the company, its employees, and the Meadville community. With these changes, Channellock is investing in the business to ensure long-term success for future generations while continuing to deliver the hardworking, American-made tools customers rely on.
